As a Lake & Pond Outdoor Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pond fountains, aeration systems, and related equipment for residential, commercial, municipal, and HOA clients. This position also assists with aquatic vegetation management and algae control. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, possesses strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, and is committed to providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pond fountains, aeration systems, lighting systems, and associated control equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues involving motors, control panels, timers, contactors, and related components. Inspect equipment and perform preventative maintenance on fountains and aeration systems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Safely use electrical test equipment, including multimeters, to troubleshoot systems. Apply aquatic herbicides and algaecides to control algae and invasive aquatic vegetation. Complete service reports, treatment records, and other required documentation accurately and timely. Follow all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, irrigation, pump, industrial maintenance, marine, or related field preferred. Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Ability to safely use and interpret readings from a multimeter. Understanding of basic electrical circuits, switches, motor controls, and control panels. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems. Strong mechanical aptitude and basic machine repair skills. Ability to use common hand and power tools. Ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment and components according to manufacturer manuals and specifications. Experience troubleshooting single-phase and three-phase motors preferred. Ability to work independently and stay organized. Strong communication and customer service skills. Basic math skills.
Requirements:
Current Florida Commercial Applicator License preferred or ability to obtain within company-established timeframe. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Clean background check. Drug-free workplace, including no medical marijuana use. High school diploma or GED required. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to safely tow trailers and launch, load, and back boats. Comfortable working around water and operating from boats. Comfortable handling, mixing, and applying pesticides and other treatment chemicals in accordance with label requirements and safety regulations. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to work outdoors year-round in Florida weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Ability to safely work in and around lakes, ponds, wetlands, and other aquatic environments. Why Join Us?
