Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic construction team as a Dock Builder, where you will play a vital role in the assembly and maintenance of docks, boat lifts, and related waterfront structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on construction projects, contributing to the development of essential infrastructure. You will utilize a variety of hand tools, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. Your expertise will help create durable, reliable docks that serve communities and commercial clients alike. Duties Operate heavy machinery including crane/barge to prepare sites and assemble dock structures. Use power tools and hand tools for cutting, fastening, and finishing dock components with precision. Perform manual handling and heavy lifting to position materials and structural elements accurately during construction. Follow safety protocols rigorously to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and team members on outdoor construction sites. Collaborate with team members on construction projects, contributing your mechanical knowledge and construction site experience to meet project deadlines. Qualifications Experience operating barge with a crane. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to commercial truck driving and transportation safety standards. Skilled in the use of power tools, welding techniques, and hand tools necessary for dock building projects. Physical work in outdoor environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Familiarity with traffic control procedures for work zones to ensure safety for workers and motorists. Carpenter with a basic understanding of laying out docks. Valid driver's license is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines diligently.
