Position Overview Adel Church of God is seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our church facilities. This position combines routine janitorial responsibilities with basic building maintenance and room setup. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, notices what needs attention without always being asked, and understands that maintaining the church is an important part of serving our congregation and community. Primary Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, common areas, and worship spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean windows and other surfaces Empty trash and replace liners throughout the facility Restock paper products, soap, and other janitorial supplies Complete basic maintenance and minor repairs within the employee's skill level Identify and promptly report facility, equipment, plumbing, electrical, or safety concerns Assist with arranging tables, chairs, and rooms for services, meetings, and special events Maintain janitorial closets, tools, and supplies in a clean and organized manner Help keep building entrances and exterior areas clean and presentable Secure assigned areas and ensure doors, lights, and equipment are properly handled Complete other facility-related duties as assigned Qualifications Dependable, punctual, and able to work with limited supervision Previous janitorial, custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience is preferred Basic knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and safe work practices Ability to recognize maintenance and safety concerns Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills Respectful and professional when interacting with church members, staff, volunteers, and guests Willingness to support the mission, values, and ministry environment of Adel Church of God Ability to successfully complete a background check Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform routine physical work, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Standing and walking for extended periods Bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing Using basic cleaning and maintenance equipment Safely lifting and moving supplies, tables, chairs, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds Working indoors and outdoors as needed Schedule This position is scheduled for approximately 24 hours per week. Some schedule flexibility may be required for church events, special projects, or facility needs.

Pay:

$14.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
