HTI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a metals processing facility in Augusta, GA. This position will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial environment while supporting commissioning and daily operations. This is a Direct Hire role on 1 st shift, M-F. Pay is $36-$39 per hour, with $2,000 in annual bonus potential.

What You Need:
High school diploma or GED required Industrial maintenance experience and stable work history Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair skills Experience with gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, pumps, and hydraulics Ability to read technical drawings and use hand, power, and diagnostic tools Heavy industrial experience preferred ; other strong mechanical backgrounds considered Rigging, welding, and fabrication experience preferred Ability to work in intense heat, perform physical tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to wear required PPE, including a PAPR respirator Availability for overtime and weekend/on-call coverage every four weeks
What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment, supporting commissioning, and improving equipment reliability. Must be self-motivated, possess strong problem-solving skills, and work effectively independently and as part of a team. Install, assemble, and test mechanical equipment according to specifications, drawings, and technical manuals. Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and complete repairs to restore operation. Maintain and repair large gearboxes, bulk material conveyors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and related processing equipment. Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and abnormal operation; replace components such as bearings, belts, valves, gears, and motors. Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to improve reliability and minimize downtime. Support equipment commissioning and startup by identifying and resolving mechanical issues. Assist with equipment disassembly, rebuilds, installation, and rigging, along with welding and fabrication based on experience. Document maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and follow-up needs. Work with operations, engineers, and maintenance teammates to prioritize repairs and improve maintenance procedures. Follow safety procedures and required PPE practices throughout the facility. Provide guidance to junior technicians as needed and participate in rotating weekend/on-call coverage.
