Based on qualifications & experience Position Summary The Handyman is responsible for maintaining the facility, grounds, equipment, and common areas in a safe, clean, and functional condition. This position performs routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep while responding to maintenance needs throughout the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general repairs and maintenance throughout the facility. Repair or replace basic plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets, and other minor plumbing issues. Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs, within applicable safety and licensing requirements. Repair drywall, doors, cabinets, furniture, walls, and other building components. Perform painting, patching, caulking, and touch-up work. Assemble, install, and repair furniture, fixtures, shelving, and equipment. Conduct routine inspections of the building and grounds and report maintenance concerns. Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems. Maintain outdoor areas, including basic landscaping, trash removal, and seasonal upkeep. Keep tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and workspaces organized and secure. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and document completed work. Assist with preparation of rooms and common areas for events, meetings, or special activities. Follow all workplace safety procedures and applicable building codes. Maintain a safe environment for residents, families, visitors, volunteers, and staff. Assist outside contractors and vendors when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous handyman, maintenance, construction, or facilities experience preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance. Ability to safely use common hand and power tools. Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine appropriate solutions. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required. Valid driver's license may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, as required. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment. Work Environment The Handyman works throughout the facility and grounds and may be exposed to dust, noise, cleaning products, outdoor weather conditions, and other routine maintenance-related conditions. Safety procedures and appropriate personal protective equipment must be followed at all times.

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 per week
