Overview The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a multi-skilled, hands-on position responsible for maintaining, repairing, improving, and supporting the physical facilities throughout the manufacturing plant. This position is ideal for an individual who can build, repair, install, paint, fabricate, and troubleshoot a wide variety of facility-related items. The technician will perform a broad range of work including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, welding and fabrication, door and hardware repairs, light fixture replacement, furniture assembly, general facility repairs, and installation of plant improvements. The successful candidate will be a "can-do" team member who can look at a problem, determine what is needed, and safely complete the repair or improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general carpentry and woodworking. Build shelves, workbenches, platforms, cabinets, partitions, and other items. Repair damaged doors, walls, trim, baseboards, and other building components. Install and repair wood, metal, and composite materials. Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials. Perform minor framing and construction work. Repair and replace door handles, locks, hinges, closers, and other hardware. Drywall & Painting Repair holes, cracks, and damaged drywall. Patch and finish drywall surfaces. Prepare surfaces for painting. Paint walls, doors, equipment, structures, offices, and other areas. Perform touch-up painting and maintain professional facility appearance. Properly prepare, store, and dispose of painting materials. Facility Installation & Repairs Install and replace light fixtures and other facility components within the employee's training and authorization. Replace switches, outlets, covers, and other basic components when permitted by plant procedures and applicable electrical requirements. Assemble office, breakroom, production, and warehouse furniture. Install shelving, cabinets, signage, whiteboards, racks, and other equipment. Repair and install doors, gates, railings, handrails, and barriers. Repair minor plumbing or facility issues when trained and authorized. Perform minor repairs to ceilings, floors, walls, and other building components. Install safety signs, mirrors, barriers, and other facility safety equipment. General Plant Support Respond to facility repair requests throughout the plant. Support Maintenance and Operations with special projects and plant improvements. Assist with equipment moves, installations, and modifications. Build or modify items needed by Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, Engineering, and other departments. Maintain exterior areas and facility structures as assigned. Assist with plant shutdown and major cleaning/repair activities. Maintain tools and work areas in accordance with 5S standards. Keep work areas clean and remove debris after completing work. Identify unsafe or deteriorating facility conditions and report them to supervision. Perform other duties as assigned.

The technician may regularly use: Hand tools Power tools Drills Impact tools Circular and reciprocating saws Table saws when authorized Ladders and lifts Forklifts when trained and authorized Measuring and layout tools Painting equipment Drywall tools General construction equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, carpentry, fabrication, or a similar multi-skilled trade . Demonstrated carpentry skills. Ability to repair and finish drywall. Painting experience. Basic welding and fabrication experience. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Ability to troubleshoot and solve practical problems. Ability to read basic measurements, drawings, and instructions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and quality. Dependable and safety conscious. Good communication skills. Ability to work effectively with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, HR, and other departments. Preferred Qualifications Welding experience. Forklift experience. Experience with scissor lifts or aerial work platforms. Electrical troubleshooting experience. Plumbing experience. Commercial or industrial construction experience. Experience working in a manufacturing facility. Experience reading basic fabrication drawings. Experience with 5S or industrial housekeeping programs.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is expected to perform all work safely and in accordance with plant procedures.
Responsibilities include:
Follow all plant safety rules and procedures. Wear required PPE. Follow Lockout/Tagout requirements when applicable. Follow Hot Work Permit requirements when welding, cutting, grinding, or performing other hot work. Maintain proper machine guarding. Use ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms properly. Follow electrical safety requirements. Properly handle tools, chemicals, paints, and other materials. Maintain clean and controlled work areas. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Stop work when an unsafe condition exists.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach. Lift and carry materials and tools. Work from ladders and elevated work platforms when trained and authorized. Work indoors and outdoors. Work in an industrial manufacturing environment. Safely handle hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment. Work around noise, dust, heat, machinery, and normal manufacturing conditions.

The technician should be someone who does not need to be told exactly how to fix every problem. When presented with a facility issue, the expectation is: Identify the problem → Determine the solution → Obtain the materials → Complete the work safely → Clean the area → Communicate completion.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a highly versatile, hands-on problem solver who enjoys working with their hands and can perform a variety of trades. The ideal candidate may have experience as a: Maintenance Technician Carpenter Basic Plumbing Construction Technician Facilities Technician General Contractor Millwright Maintenance Mechanic Skilled Tradesperson The individual does not need to be an expert in every trade. However, they should have strong general mechanical aptitude, good construction skills, and the ability and willingness to learn new tasks.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
