Job Description

What We Offer Our Plant Engineering team helps maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients, families, and team members. As a Facility Maintenance Technician II, you'll perform a variety of general maintenance and repair work, from plumbing and HVAC to building repairs and upkeep. This is a second-shift position with a weekend rotation approximately every 7 weeks , offering steady, non-contract work and opportunities to grow with Novant Health. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits that start on day one Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage Retirement savings plans with employer match Paid time off, holidays, and extended leave programs Ongoing technical training and skills development Career growth opportunities Steady, non-contract work Collaborative team environment focused on safety, quality, and service What You'll Do Perform maintenance and repairs throughout the hospital, including: Building structures and general repairs HVAC systems Mechanical and utility systems Plumbing systems Grounds and exterior areas Find and fix a variety of maintenance problems Complete general repairs such as unclogging plumbing, repairing drywall, and other building repairs Respond to work requests and scheduled maintenance in a timely manner Safely use a variety of hand and power tools Follow safety rules, building codes, and Environment of Care standards Provide friendly and professional service to patients, visitors, and team members Work as part of the Plant Engineering team and with other hospital departments What We're Looking For Education High School Diploma or GED, required Experience Two years of experience performing plant operations and general maintenance in a healthcare facility or similar work environment, required Basic understanding of all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems Licensure or Certifications Valid driver's license, required Additional Skills - Required Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing Ability to apply customer satisfaction standards Knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools used in facility maintenance Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority Additional Skills Broad knowledge of the principles, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment Broad knowledge of building, electrical, and fire codes and The Joint Commission Environment of Care standards Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics Why Choose Novant Health?
