Suburban Management

Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We're looking for someone who takes pride in fixing things—not someone who just wants to check boxes. Suburban Management is growing, and we're looking for a hands-on, dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our apartment communities safe, comfortable, clean, and running at their best. If you're the person friends and family call when something breaks, you enjoy figuring out how things work, and you like seeing the results of a job well done, we want to meet you. What You'll Be Doing Every day is a little different. You'll be handling a variety of maintenance needs, including:
  • Responding to resident maintenance requests and completing work orders
  • Plumbing repairs and troubleshooting
  • Basic electrical repairs
  • Drywall repair, painting, patching, and general carpentry
  • Appliance troubleshooting and replacement
  • HVAC troubleshooting and basic maintenance
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Inspecting apartments, common areas, mechanical rooms, and grounds
  • Helping maintain the overall appearance and condition of our communities
  • Working with the Maintenance Manager and property management team to prioritize work
  • Occasionally responding to emergency maintenance situations We're Looking for Someone Who More than anything, we want the right attitude.
You should be:
  • Dependable—you show up and follow through
  • A problem solver who doesn't give up when something isn't straightforward
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Able to communicate professionally with residents and coworkers
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple work orders
  • Proud of the quality of your work
  • Comfortable working with your hands and learning new skills
  • Able to work safely and follow company procedures
  • Experienced in apartment maintenance, residential construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field You don't have to know everything.
If you have strong mechanical ability, a willingness to learn, and take pride in your work, we're willing to train the right person. Why Work With Suburban Management? We believe maintenance employees are one of the most important parts of a successful apartment community. When something isn't working, you're the person who makes it right. We want our maintenance team to have the tools, support, and resources they need to do their jobs well. You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Work with an established and growing property management company
  • Build your skills across multiple apartment communities
  • Learn from an experienced management and maintenance team
  • Have variety in your day instead of doing the same thing every day The Person We're Hoping to Find We're not necessarily looking for the person with the longest résumé.
We're looking for the person who shows up, works hard, figures things out, treats residents with respect, and cares about the finished product. If that sounds like you, apply today. We'd love to meet you.
