This role requires a strong understanding of the commercial door and loading dock industry.
The Technician will work on-site, often on construction or in industrial facilities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Candidates with experience in Commercial Door and loading dock industry will be considered. Applicants will need have current up to date certifications. Continuing education courses will be provided Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain garage doors, openers, and related hardware with precision and attention to detail Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to complete projects efficiently Conduct welding and metal stud framing for structural support when required Read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs Handle heavy lifting safely to transport materials and equipment on-site Apply caulking and locksmithing techniques to ensure secure sealing and locking mechanisms Work on construction sites involving new installations with adherence to safety protocols Troubleshoot mechanical issues with garage door systems using mechanical knowledge and electrical experience Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety standards are followed during operations Qualifications Proven experience in the commercial door and dock leveler industry Knowledge of installation, welding, fabrication, electrical systems, and schematics Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized fabrication equipment effectively Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required Construction site experience with a focus on safety compliance Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship Valid driver's license .
