PURPOSE OF POSITION
The School Maintenance Technician II is a mid-level position responsible for a wider range of repair, upkeep, and maintenance tasks across the school's facilities. This technician possesses more advanced skills than a Level I technician and may take on supervisory or leadership roles for specific projects or tasks. Their skills contribute significantly to creating a safe and conducive learning environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Diagnose and repair more complex maintenance issues, working independently on tasks such as minor electrical or plumbing fixes. Oversee the setup and takedown of equipment for school events or activities. Take the lead on specific maintenance projects or initiatives. Respond to work orders submitted through the organizations work order management system. Mentor and guide Level 1 technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise. Oversee tasks or projects, ensuring quality and timely completion. Conduct detailed inspections of facilities, identifying potential issues and planning solutions. Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor on required resources and timelines for repairs. Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to established safety standards and regulations. Identify potential safety hazards and take the lead on addressing them, ensuring the school environment remains safe. Operate more advanced maintenance equipment and tools. Recommend updates or replacements for tools and equipment to improve efficiency and safety. Maintain detailed records of maintenance tasks, including resources used, time taken, and any challenges encountered. Provide regular updates and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on completed, ongoing, and upcoming tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education Required:
High School or equivalent
Certification Required:
Valid Driver's License Prefer:
Technical training or certification in a related maintenance field is a plus
Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years' in maintenance with proven expertise in advanced tasks.
Pay:
$56,273.00 - $67,528.00 per year
