Full-Time | Direct Hire Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician I for a direct-hire opportunity in a manufacturing environment in Prairie du Sac, WI. This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and installing production and facility equipment. The position requires a well-rounded mechanical skill set with knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical repair, PLC and machine controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication, and general plant maintenance . This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined maintenance professional looking for competitive pay and the opportunity to develop across multiple industrial maintenance disciplines.
Compensation Base Pay:
$33.09-$34.83 per hour, based on experience and background
Shift Premium:
Additional 3.5% for applicable shifts
Sign-On Bonus:
$2,000 $1,000 after successful completion of the orientation period $1,000 after one year of employment Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant and production equipment Maintain manufacturing machinery and assembly equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and machine-control issues Perform minor electrical repairs Troubleshoot and work with basic PLC and machine control systems Maintain heating systems, compressors, plumbing, and other facility equipment Diagnose equipment problems and complete necessary repairs Rebuild or fabricate parts for machinery and plant equipment Install new machinery and production equipment Remove or relocate existing equipment throughout the facility Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welders, torches, and other maintenance equipment Perform welding and basic fabrication as required Operate forklifts and other applicable equipment Assist other maintenance personnel with repairs, installations, and projects Complete scheduled maintenance assignments according to supervisor instructions Maintain clean, safe, and organized equipment and work areas Identify and report potentially unsafe conditions Complete assigned work accurately and within expected timelines Follow all established plant safety, quality, and maintenance procedures Perform additional maintenance responsibilities as assigned Qualifications One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or 6-12 months of related maintenance experience and/or training, or An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience General knowledge of industrial machinery and plant repair Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Basic knowledge of PLC and machine controls Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills Ability to safely use hand and power tools Welding and fabrication skills Ability to operate a forklift and other industrial equipment Ability to read and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals Strong attention to quality and accuracy Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work effectively independently and alongside other maintenance personnel Preferred Technical Experience Candidates with experience in several of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Industrial maintenance Preventative maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting PLC troubleshooting Machine controls Hydraulics Pneumatics Electrical troubleshooting Welding Fabrication Compressors Plumbing Heating systems Equipment installation Forklift operation Physical Requirements Stand and/or walk for the entire shift Frequently bend, reach, and perform hands-on maintenance work Frequently lift approximately 30-40 pounds without assistance Occasionally lift or maneuver up to approximately 70 pounds, assisted or unassisted Work safely around moving machinery and industrial equipment Work Environment This position works directly within an active manufacturing facility. Employees will regularly work around moving mechanical equipment and may frequently encounter fumes or airborne particles . The manufacturing environment is typically loud. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures, use equipment appropriately, report unsafe conditions, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
