Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Field Service Equipment Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and software/hardware upgrades of complex semiconductor automated test equipment. This is a hands-on engineering position that combines field service, equipment troubleshooting, customer interaction, and technical problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently at customer sites while also collaborating closely with engineering and internal technical teams. What You'll Do Perform on-site service, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of custom automated test equipment. Support equipment maintenance, upgrades, and system improvements. Work closely with Nidec Engineering and customers to establish schedules, track progress, and communicate project status. Collaborate with internal engineering teams on technical issues and help drive problems to resolution. Communicate directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system issues. Lead or participate in customer meetings to identify issues, coordinate activities, and achieve desired outcomes. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, procedures, service reports, and progress reports. Adapt to a dynamic environment where priorities and customer requirements may change. Travel approximately 20% , primarily for local customer support. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field . 2-5 years of experience in semiconductor automation, automated test systems, equipment engineering, field service, or a related industry. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment skills. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings . Ability to interpret electrical and electronic schematics and drawings . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and remote internal technical teams. Strong organizational and technical documentation skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage changing priorities. Technical Skills Experience or familiarity with the following is highly desirable: Automated semiconductor test equipment Vision systems Motion control systems PLCs LDMs Pneumatic systems Computer hardware and software Mechanical systems and assemblies Electrical and electronic systems Programming experience is a plus , particularly with: C# Visual Basic JavaScript XML What We Offer Competitive salary: Full-time employment Variable shifts with shift differential pay Health benefits begin on your first day 25 days per year, combined paid holidays and PTO 401(k) with 3% company matching Opportunity to work with advanced semiconductor test and automation technology Customer-facing engineering role with opportunities to develop technical and troubleshooting expertise
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
