This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering position that requires strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently, and collaboratively with customers and internal engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with semiconductor automation, automated test systems, or similar complex equipment and will be comfortable working directly at customer sites to diagnose issues, implement solutions, and support equipment installations and upgrades. Key Responsibilities Perform on-site installation, service, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades of custom automated semiconductor test equipment. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and equipment-control issues. Work closely with customers to identify issues, communicate solutions, and drive problems to resolution. Collaborate with Nidec and SV Probe engineering teams on technical issues and corrective actions. Communicate project schedules, progress, service activities, and technical information to customers and internal teams. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, procedures, service reports, and other engineering documentation. Participate in customer meetings and lead technical discussions to achieve desired outcomes. Support local customers and provide responsive field service as required. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and apply strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Support hardware and software upgrades to automated test equipment. Work independently in the field while maintaining effective communication with remote technical teams. Follow company and customer safety, quality, and operational procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in semiconductor automation, semiconductor test systems, automated equipment, or a related industry. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment skills. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. Experience in troubleshooting complex automated equipment and control systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineering teams, and technical personnel. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team. Ability to prepare technical documents, procedures, service reports, and progress reports. Ability to lead or participate in customer meetings and technical discussions. Preferred Technical Experience Experience with some or all of the following is highly desirable: Vision systems Motion control systems PLCs LDMs Pneumatic systems Computer hardware and software Semiconductor automated test equipment Equipment installation and commissioning Hardware and software upgrades Basic programming or scripting Programming knowledge in C#, Visual Basic, JavaScript, XML, or similar technologies is a plus.
