Generator Source, Located in Brighton, CO.is seeking experienced technicians to perform scheduled maintenance, load-bank testing, inspections, and minor repairs on commercial and industrial generator systems. This is a hands-on field position for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who is comfortable working independently at customer locations. The PM Technician is responsible for keeping generator equipment properly maintained, identifying potential problems, and communicating repair needs before they result in equipment failure. What You'll Do Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on diesel and gaseous generators and related equipment Perform engine oil and filter changes using a lube skid Replace fuel filters, air filters, and other routine maintenance components Perform generator load-bank testing and document test results Inspect batteries, cables, terminals, and charging systems Replace batteries and battery chargers Inspect and replace belts and hoses Replace block heaters and thermostats Remove and replace radiators Perform coolant replacement and cooling-system flushes Inspect equipment for leaks, loose connections, damaged components, and other visible concerns Pressure wash and clean generators and equipment as needed Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs within your level of training and experience Identify additional repairs or service needs and communicate findings to the Service Department Complete service reports, inspection forms, photographs, and other required documentation accurately and on time Maintain your service vehicle, tools, lube skid, and assigned equipment in a clean and safe condition Properly handle and dispose of used oil, coolant, filters, batteries, and other materials Follow Generator Source safety policies and customer site requirements What We're Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of engines, generators, and electrical systems Previous preventive maintenance experience with diesel or gaseous engines preferred Experience performing generator load-bank testing Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and a lube skid Ability to perform battery, battery charger, belt, hose, block heater, thermostat, radiator, and coolant replacement Experience performing cooling-system flushes and related maintenance Comfortable using an iPad, laptop, and mobile applications to receive work orders, document work, upload photos, and complete service reports Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, documentation, and customer service Good communication skills with customers, coworkers, and management Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company and insurance requirements Ability to meet company background-screening requirements Physical Requirements This is an active field-service position.
Technicians must be able to:
Lift and carry up to 75 pounds Bend, kneel, climb, crouch, and work around generator equipment Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Work safely around noise, oil, grease, diesel fuel, coolant, and other materials commonly associated with generator maintenance Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) Schedule & Availability Participate in an on-call rotation as required Available for occasional overtime, weekends, and after-hours work when necessary Some travel may be required depending on customer and branch needs About the Role The PM Technician is primarily responsible for preventive maintenance, load-bank testing, equipment inspections, and defined minor repairs. This position is not expected to independently perform major engine, electrical, controls, alternator, or advanced diagnostic repairs. When more extensive repairs are identified, the technician will document the issue and work with the Service Department to escalate the repair to the appropriate Field Service Technician. Pay:
