We are seeking energetic leaders to mitigate damage to residential and commercial properties from water, mold, smoke, fire, or other methods of damage. Together we help property owners to ensure they have a healthy and safe home.
Position Overview:
The Lead Technician is responsible for managing and performing water damage restoration tasks, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently from start to finish. This role includes conducting site inspections, scoping jobs for estimating, and delivering high-quality restoration services while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
Manage water damage restoration projects from start to finish, including water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, and final cleanup. Ensure that all phases are completed on schedule and within budget.
Site Inspection & Assessment:
Conduct detailed inspections to assess the extent of water damage, including structural and content damage. Use moisture meters and other diagnostic tools to develop a mitigation plan.
Scoping & Estimating:
Prepare detailed and accurate scopes of work for restoration projects, including affected areas, recommended procedures, materials, and labor requirements. Assist with estimating for insurance claims and job costing.
Team Leadership & Training:
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of water technicians. Provide guidance on best practices and ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
Customer Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, explaining the restoration process, setting expectations, addressing concerns, and providing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain thorough records of all job activities, including moisture readings, equipment usage, daily progress notes, and photographs. Ensure documentation supports accurate and timely insurance claims.
Equipment Management:
Ensure all equipment is properly used, maintained, cleaned, and stored. Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure inventory is well-organized.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Conduct final inspections to verify job completion meets company and industry standards (IICRC). Adhere to all safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and local building codes.
Emergency Response:
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency water damage services, responding to after-hours calls as needed.
Required Experience:
Water Damage Restoration:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in water damage restoration, including significant hands-on experience with water extraction, drying, and mold prevention.
Software Proficiency:
Experience with MICA and DASH platforms for job documentation is and claims management systems such as Xactanalysis and Claims Connect is preferred.
Technical Certifications:
IICRC Water Damage Restoration (WRT) certification is required. Advanced certifications (such as ASD, AMRT, or CDS) are strongly preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
Skills:
Strong leadership abilities, with excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and performing physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
