In this energetic role, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned technicians to service, repair, and install a variety of HVAC systems. Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will help you develop essential skills in mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration, and building automation systems. Responsibilities Assist in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems. Support senior technicians with system installations and routine maintenance tasks across commercial and residential properties. Read schematics and technical manuals to understand system layouts and troubleshoot issues effectively. Use hand tools, electrical meters (such as ohmmeters), and other diagnostic equipment to identify faults and perform repairs. Help maintain building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems to ensure optimal operation. Follow safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repairs, maintenance needs, and system performance. Skills Construction experience or background in property maintenance is a plus for understanding building systems. Prior service technician experience or exposure to HVAC/R work enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge is highly valued. Familiarity with HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to operate hand tools, electrical testing devices (like ohmmeters), and equipment repair tools safely and effectively. Strong mechanical skills with a focus on mechanical systems repair and HVAC system troubleshooting. Valid EPA certification for refrigerants; additional certifications related to ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are advantageous. Customer service skills that enable clear communication with clients while maintaining professionalism. Experience with building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, appliance repair, or property maintenance is beneficial. A clean driving record with a van driver's license is preferred for field service assignments.
