Caterpillar and Generator Field Technician Description:

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Caterpillar and Generator Field Service Technician in the Odessa/Midland area to play a critical role in the service, repair, and maintenance of all makes/models of commercial and industrial generators.

Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance service on customer generators Repair and service most major makes and models of generator sets - Diesel, Propane and Natural Gas Inspect, repair, service and start-up Load Bank test requirements on equipment Repair and troubleshoot engines such as PSI, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU and Volvo Troubleshoot switchgear and automatic transfer switches Provide on call services as required Deliver exceptional customer service May be required to perform administrative office duties

Requirements:

3+ years of commercial/industrial experience working on generators, ATS and switchgear OEM training & certification and/or EGSA certification preferred Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background check, drug test and MVR clearance Strong written and verbal English skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Outlook email/calendars

Physical Demands:

Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work.

Physical Activity:

85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication. May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds). Frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective footwear as required. Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
