Maintenance Worker / Security Officer - Facilities (Big Island, Full-Time, 40)

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of duties to insure reliable, safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and/or systems. Assists Engineers in new/renovation facility projects as assigned. Performs duties of a Security Officer.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
Frequent:
stooping/bending, carrying up to 25 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
Occasional:
sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, twisting body, reaching above and at shoulder level.
Depending on area of assignment:
lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds; pushing/pulling up to 5 pounds of force.
Continuous:
carrying usual weight of 15 pounds Refer to the Security Officer job description for additional typical physical demands.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Works a weekly rotating schedule and on-call schedule. Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Subjected to noise/vibration from power hand tools required in area of assignment. Some exposure to electrical current, hazardous materials, fumes, and odors. Refer to the Security Officer job description for additional typical working conditions. Meets and complies with qualifications set forth in QNHCH Fleet Safety Policy.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
High school diploma or equivalent Current State of Hawaii Guard Registration Card. Valid US driver's license required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations. Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving history. Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years experience as a Maintenance Worker.
Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to do calculations, assess job priorities, give and receive instructions, and write reports. o Ability to speak, read, writes and Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Vet Your Health.
