The Maintenance & Engineering Manager will drive continuous improvement, reliability programs, and capital projects to support production targets, regulatory compliance, and cost optimization. This role partners with operations, quality, and supply chain to implement best practices in maintenance strategy, equipment reliability, and smart manufacturing technologies. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute maintenance and engineering strategies to maximize equipment uptime, extend asset life, and reduce total cost of ownership. Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors to meet safety, quality, and production goals. Implement and sustain preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs (PM programs, CMMS) to improve equipment reliability and performance. Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Manage capital projects, budget planning, and lifecycle replacements including specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover. Oversee automation, controls, and machine connectivity projects to enable Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 capabilities. Collaborate with engineering and operations to design and optimize equipment layouts, modifications, and new product introductions using AutoCAD and engineering standards. Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements across maintenance and engineering activities. Establish performance metrics and dashboards for equipment reliability, downtime, maintenance costs, and project delivery; report to senior leadership. Work with cross-functional teams to support product categories including Oral Care, Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, and Food manufacturing environments. Manage third-party service providers, contractors, and spare parts inventory to ensure responsiveness and cost-effectiveness. Champion a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and operational discipline across the maintenance organization. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred. 10+ years of progressive maintenance and engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated leadership of multi-site or large-scale maintenance teams. Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement frameworks. Strong hands-on background in automation, controls, machine connectivity, and Smart Manufacturing technologies. Proficient with CMMS platforms, PM program development, reliability engineering tools, and condition monitoring techniques. Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering drawing tools and solid understanding of equipment design and installation. Demonstrated success managing capital projects, budgets, and contractor relationships. Experience in regulated industries (Oral Care, Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, Food) or consumer-packaged goods is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a focus on safety and quality. Certification in reliability engineering, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or equivalent is a plus.
