Job Description

Job Summary
MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TRUCK AND TOOLS
. The Fiber Installation and Repair Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs fiber-optic telecommunications systems for residential and commercial customers. This position works in homes, businesses, outdoor environments, and network facilities to ensure reliable voice, internet, and data services. We are look for self motivated individuals for this unit- based role that can complete quality work . Responsibilities Install fiber-optic cable, equipment, customer premises devices, and related hardware. Perform fiber splicing, termination, testing, and connector installation. Use optical power meters, visual fault locators, OTDRs, fusion splicers, and other test equipment. Run fiber through aerial, indoor, and outdoor pathways as required. Configure and test optical network terminals, routers, and related communications equipment. Document completed work, materials used, test results, and customer approvals. Explain installed services and basic equipment operation to customers. Follow safety procedures for ladders, confined spaces, traffic areas, electrical hazards, and utility locations. Maintain assigned tools, equipment, materials, and service vehicles. Requirements Must have truck and ladder Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts, including Ethernet, telephony systems, Cisco routers, and low voltage wiring. Ability to use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, power tools, and electrical testers effectively. Valid driver's license with experience operating company vehicles safely. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Physical ability to perform ladder use, electrical work tasks, and outdoor installations requiring manual dexterity. Knowledge of satellite dish installation is a plus but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
