Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Marine Boat Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of marine vessels, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will leverage your mechanical expertise, electrical diagnostics skills, and hands-on experience with marine propulsion systems to keep boats operating smoothly. Duties Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues utilizing schematics, technical drawings, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify root causes efficiently. Conduct electrical troubleshooting on ship electrical systems, including wiring, circuit boards, and control panels, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Execute fabrication tasks such as sheet metal work, welding, soldering, and rigging to modify or repair vessel components as required. Maintain water transportation equipment by replacing parts, performing heavy lifting tasks safely with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and adhering to maintenance schedules aligned with Marine MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to assemble or disassemble components accurately while adhering to engineering troubleshooting protocols. Support customer service initiatives by providing expert advice on vessel maintenance needs and ensuring high-quality repairs that meet client expectations. Vessel winterization Vessel summarization Vessel storage Vessel shirk wrapping Vessel launch and retreival Reporting to the marina manager or dock master Qualifications Proven service technician experience in marine or vehicle maintenance environments with a strong mechanical background. Knowledge of marine engine repair, propulsion systems maintenance, and ship electrical systems troubleshooting. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and the use of calibration tools like calipers and multimeters, such as ohmmeters. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, fabrication techniques including welding and soldering, and the use of power tools for assembly or repair tasks. Experience working with heavy lifting equipment safely using PPE in accordance with safety regulations. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately while applying engineering troubleshooting methods.
