Job Description

Marina Technician / Boat Mechanic Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and skilled Marine Technician / Boat Mechanic to join our marina team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience working on boats who enjoys a variety of mechanical, maintenance, and marina-related tasks. The Marine Technician will be responsible for performing boat repairs and maintenance, assisting with boat movement and storage, and helping maintain the marina and surrounding property. This is a hands-on position with a variety of responsibilities and opportunities to utilize and expand your marine mechanical skills. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on boats and marine equipment Perform mechanical repairs and general boat maintenance Move, launch, retrieve, and position boats throughout the marina and boatyard Assist with seasonal boat preparation and related marina operations Perform general marina repairs and maintenance Complete miscellaneous yard and property maintenance tasks as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow proper safety procedures and marina guidelines Work independently while also assisting other members of the marina team Perform other related duties as needed Qualifications & Preferred Skills Previous experience with marine repair, boat maintenance, or marine mechanics preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills Ability to safely move and handle boats and marine equipment Basic knowledge of marine systems and components Electrical experience is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate Mercury Marine certification is a plus, but must be willing to obtain certification if not already certified Ability to use common hand and power tools Valid driver's license Dependable, hardworking, and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, mechanically inclined, and willing to tackle a variety of tasks. The ideal candidate will have marine mechanical experience, but we are also interested in candidates with strong general mechanical skills and a willingness to learn. This is a hands-on position in a working marina environment. No two days are necessarily the same. Salary negotiable based on experience.
Pay:
$15.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
