  • Marine & Industrial Repair We are looking for an experienced Machinist or Machinist Helper to join our team.
Our company primarily services commercial fishing vessels and the marine industry , performing repair, overhaul, and fabrication work on hydraulic and mechanical equipment. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable with repair machining and one-off parts , rather than repetitive production work. You will regularly work with worn, damaged, or obsolete components that need to be repaired, modified, or reproduced. Responsibilities Follow verbal instruction Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other machine shop equipment Machine and repair shafts, pins, bushings, sleeves, spacers, and other mechanical components Repair and machine components from marine winches, capstans, cranes, hydraulic cylinders, gearboxes, and other vessel equipment Measure worn or damaged parts and determine appropriate repair methods Manufacture replacement parts from samples, or field measurements Perform precision turning, boring, facing, threading, drilling, and milling Work with steel, stainless steel, bronze, aluminum, and other materials Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean and organized work area Follow company safety procedures and instructions Qualifications Previous machining experience required Strong experience with manual lathe and milling machine operation Ability to accurately measure and reproduce parts Good understanding of fits, clearances, tolerances, threads, and bearing surfaces Ability to troubleshoot damaged or worn mechanical components Marine, hydraulic, industrial repair, or heavy-equipment experience is preferred Work Environment Our work primarily supports commercial fishing vessels, marine equipment, and industrial hydraulic systems . Jobs vary from day to day and may include machining new components, repairing existing equipment, and assisting with complete equipment overhauls. This is not a repetitive production machining position . Much of our work involves custom repairs and finding practical solutions for equipment that may be worn, damaged, or no longer supported by the original manufacturer. Schedule Monday through Friday Full-time Overtime available as workload requires Compensation $30-35 , depending on experience and skill level.
