Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Tower Technicians to install and maintain RF wireless cell sites across all structure types, including rooftops, monopoles, lattice towers, water tanks, stealth towers, and guyed towers. This hands-on role involves working on antennas, RRUs, RF cabinets, battery cabinets, power plants, fiber, power, grounding, cabling, and related infrastructure while ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Nuwave standards and customer requirements. Tower Technician II candidates work independently with minimal supervision as capable crew members. Tower Technician III candidates bring advanced testing and troubleshooting skills and serve as working leads, coordinating crew activity and mentoring less experiencedtechnicians. Key Responsibilities (All Levels): Perform installation and maintenance of RF wireless equipment including antennas, TMAs, RRUs, diplexers, RET motors, coax, fiber and power trunks and jumpers, connectors, grounding, weatherproofing, microwave dishes, GPS antennas, and cabling supports. Install BTS/RF cabinets and electrical components, including but not limited to DC Power Plants, AC Power Panels, sub-panels, disconnects, transformers, generators, meter cans/pedestals, conduit, and trenching for conduit installation. Execute civil and construction-related tasks such as trenching, grounding, forming, footings, concrete work, framing, fencing, BTS cabinet sets, and site preparation. Operate field test equipment, including the Anritsu Site Master (line sweeping), PIM tester, and fiber tester, and perform RET programming per scope and carrier specifications. Identify AC vs DC power systems and perform Cadweld/exothermic welding as required. Follow Methods of Procedure (MOPs), scopes of work, and quality guidelines without deviation. Track completed scope items and complete checklists, job logs, and field documentation accurately and on time. Load, unload, and deliver materials at job sites, rooftops, and warehouse locations; manage and track on-site inventory. Maintain responsibility for company-issued tools, vehicles, and assets; support warehouse operations when assigned. Utilize required PPE and adhere to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures; inspect safety gear before use and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately. Participate in required safety training and on-call rotations as needed. Additional Responsibilities -
Tower Technician III:
Independently execute complex scopes with full ownership and accountability. Read and interpret construction drawings, RFDSs, NTPs, MOPs, and all pertinent job documentation before and during execution. Use advanced test equipment to diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and assist in identifying customer network and equipment issues. Perform ground testing and interpret results in accordance with applicable standards. Coordinate crew activity in a working lead capacity; delegate tasks and provide technical training and mentorship to less experienced technicians. Ensure a Job Hazard Assessment is completed on every site and help lead daily on-site safety tailgate meetings. Keep the Tower Foreman informed of progress, concerns, and any deviations from plan or schedule.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements -
Tower Technician II:
2+ years of wireless telecom industry experience. 2+ years of hands-on cell site construction experience on rooftops, monopoles, water tanks, or tower structures. Experience with at least one major wireless carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Dish/Boost Mobile, etc.). Comfortable working at heights on towers and rooftops, by climbing or via aerial equipment. Intermediate knowledge of Anritsu Site Master, PIM testing, fiber testing, and RET programming. Working knowledge of LTE equipment and Ericsson BTS Cabinet fundamentals. Rigging and knot-tying experience. Ability to identify AC vs DC power systems and to Cadweld/exothermic weld. Minimum Requirements - Tower Technician III (in addition to the above): 4+ years of wireless telecom industry experience. 3+ years of hands-on cell site construction experience across multiple structure types, including lattice, stealth, and guyed towers. Advanced proficiency with Anritsu Site Master, PIM testing, fiber testing, and RET programming. Experience with crane hand signals and crane pick execution; rigging and knot-tying expertise. Knowledge of wireless network technologies and standards (LTE, 5G, carrier-specific platforms). Ability to lead a crew, delegate tasks, and train less experienced technicians.
All Candidates:
Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record; ability to drive a company vehicle up to 25,999 lbs. and 26' in length and tow a trailer. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical labor for 8+ hours per day. Willingness to work in all weather conditions, including extreme summer heat. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and on-call rotations when needed. Ability to pass initial and recurring drug testing and a background check. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email) and field documentation skills.
