This position performs both manual parts cleaning and automated cleaning using Better Engineering cleaning equipment. The technician will operate established cleaning programs or "recipes" and, as trained and authorized, create or modify cleaning recipes based on the part, material, cleaning requirements, and applicable procedures. The technician is also responsible for physically verifying Part Numbers (P/N) and Serial Numbers (S/N), accurately entering part information into the company system, generating identification and traceability tags, and ensuring the correct tag remains associated with the corresponding part throughout the cleaning process. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced aviation MRO environment. Key Responsibilities Parts Identification & Traceability Physically inspect parts and components to locate and verify Part Numbers (P/N) and Serial Numbers (S/N), when applicable. Compare physical part markings against available documentation and system information. Accurately enter P/N, S/N, and other required part information into the company system. Generate the appropriate identification or traceability tag and ensure it is properly attached or associated with the correct part. Maintain positive identification and traceability of parts throughout the cleaning process. Prevent mixing, misidentification, or loss of parts during cleaning, staging, and processing. Immediately report missing, illegible, questionable, or conflicting part identification to the appropriate supervisor or Quality personnel. Manual Parts Cleaning Clean commercial turbine engine parts and components by hand using approved cleaning methods, chemicals, tools, and equipment. Remove oil, grease, carbon, dirt, residue, and other contaminants as required by applicable cleaning instructions. Select and use appropriate cleaning materials and methods based on the part, material, condition, and applicable procedures. Handle parts carefully to prevent damage during cleaning, movement, and staging. Visually evaluate parts following cleaning to determine whether additional cleaning is required before moving the part to the next operation. Properly rinse, dry, protect, and stage cleaned parts as required. Better Engineering Cleaning Equipment Safely operate Better Engineering parts cleaning equipment in accordance with company procedures, equipment instructions, and applicable safety requirements. Properly load and unload parts to prevent damage and ensure effective cleaning. Select and run the appropriate cleaning cycle or established cleaning "recipe" for the part being processed. As trained and authorized, create, develop, and modify cleaning recipes for applicable parts or part families. Set and monitor applicable machine parameters, including cleaning cycle, time, temperature, wash/rinse sequence, and other equipment settings as required. Evaluate cleaning results and make appropriate adjustments within authorized parameters when necessary. Maintain consistency and repeatability of established cleaning recipes. Accurately identify and document cleaning recipes used for applicable parts or part families. Report equipment malfunctions, abnormal operating conditions, or unsatisfactory cleaning results immediately. Do not alter established or controlled cleaning parameters outside the employee's level of authorization. Documentation & System Entry Accurately document completed cleaning operations in the company system and/or applicable shop documentation. Ensure required P/N, S/N, cleaning information, tags, and records are accurate and complete. Maintain proper documentation and part traceability throughout the assigned operation. Ensure each identification or traceability tag remains associated with the correct part. Follow company procedures for correcting documentation or system-entry errors. Maintain accurate records of cleaning operations as required by company procedures and applicable technical data. Compliance & Quality Perform cleaning operations in accordance with applicable OEM technical data, approved procedures, company instructions, and

requirements, as applicable. Follow the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and applicable company procedures. Use only approved cleaning chemicals, materials, processes, and equipment. Follow applicable requirements for handling and protecting aviation parts and components. Identify and report discrepancies, damage, corrosion, unusual conditions, or potential quality concerns discovered during the cleaning process. Maintain proper segregation and control of parts to prevent loss, damage, contamination, or misidentification. Support Quality Control inspections and audits as required. Equipment & Work Area Perform routine operator-level cleaning and maintenance of parts cleaning equipment in accordance with established procedures. Inspect cleaning tools and equipment before use and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Maintain cleaning equipment, workstations, tanks, baskets, fixtures, and surrounding areas in a clean and orderly condition. Monitor cleaning solutions and equipment conditions as required by established procedures. Follow applicable preventive maintenance and equipment inspection requirements. Safety Safely handle cleaning chemicals and other materials used during the cleaning process. Review and follow applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical handling instructions. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Follow company requirements for chemical storage, labeling, handling, and disposal. Immediately report spills, unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, injuries, or other safety concerns. Follow all company safety, environmental, FOD prevention, and housekeeping requirements. Communication & Teamwork Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and other departments to maintain efficient workflow. Communicate cleaning issues, identification discrepancies, equipment problems, and processing delays promptly. Follow established production priorities while maintaining quality, safety, and traceability requirements. Assist with training and continuous improvement activities as requested.

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical, mechanical, aviation, or industrial training preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience cleaning aviation, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or precision mechanical parts preferred. Experience operating industrial parts washers or automated cleaning equipment preferred. Experience with Better Engineering cleaning equipment is highly desirable but not required. Experience working in an FAA Part 145 repair station, aviation MRO, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing/maintenance environment is preferred. Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and transferable industrial experience may be considered and trained. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to accurately read and identify part numbers, serial numbers, and physical part markings. Ability to perform accurate computer data entry. Ability to learn and operate Better Engineering cleaning equipment. Ability to understand, create, and adjust equipment cleaning recipes after appropriate training and authorization. Ability to follow written technical instructions and standardized processes. Basic mechanical aptitude. Understanding of industrial cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment is preferred. Ability to recognize when a part requires additional cleaning or when a condition should be escalated to Inspection or Quality. Ability to maintain part identification and traceability throughout the cleaning process. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced aviation MRO environment without sacrificing quality or accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team. Basic computer skills required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move parts or components weighing up to 50 lbs, with assistance or lifting equipment when required. Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements. Ability to safely handle parts of various sizes and configurations. Ability to work while wearing required PPE. Ability to work around cleaning chemicals, machinery, water, oils, and industrial cleaning solutions. Work Environment FAA Part 145 commercial turbine engine repair station environment. Regular exposure to industrial machinery, cleaning equipment, noise, chemicals, oils, water, and cleaning solutions. PPE is required based on the operation being performed. Strict adherence to safety, quality, FOD prevention, part traceability, and housekeeping requirements is required.
