Aux Equip Op & Lubrication Tech

Job Description

The Auxiliary Equipment and Lubrication Technician is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, adjusting, inspecting, and maintaining auxiliary production equipment and lubricated mechanical systems. This position supports reliable production by performing routine lubrication, contamination control, oil analysis, equipment troubleshooting, operating adjustments, inspections, documentation, and authorized preventative maintenance in accordance with company safety, quality, environmental, and production standards. Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor auxiliary equipment according to standard operating procedures, including equipment start-up, shutdown, and routine operating adjustments. Monitor gauges, controls, temperatures, pressures, material flow, and other operating conditions; identify abnormal conditions and notify appropriate personnel. Perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment adjustments as authorized, and support equipment changeovers, setups, cleaning, and preventative maintenance activities. Apply grease and oil lubrication using manual and automatic dispensing equipment to support preventative maintenance on production, Press, and Finishing equipment. Inspect automatic lubrication systems and lubricated mechanical systems; maintain reservoirs by filling or topping off lubricants and changing filters and breathers as required. Operate filtration equipment and install authorized mechanical modification systems to support sampling, filtration, contamination control, and equipment efficiency. Schedule, collect, handle, mail, and review oil and grease samples; assist with field analysis, diagnosis, and recommendations for future maintenance actions. Conduct routine equipment and machine inspections, document operating conditions, and report safety, quality, equipment, or maintenance concerns promptly. Review and update the Maintenance Control System daily to report discrepancies, schedule maintenance for production systems, and track completion of work tasks. Maintain accurate production, inspection, lubrication, oil analysis, and equipment records; report bulk lubricant inventory levels to appropriate Purchasing personnel to maintain adequate stock. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, chemical and environmental requirements, housekeeping standards, and safe work practices around moving machinery. Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards; support production employees and maintenance personnel as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
Experience:
Two years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, production, machine operation, or industrial equipment experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience preferred. Ability to safely operate and monitor equipment, read gauges and work instructions, perform basic math, maintain accurate records, communicate effectively, and work independently while following established procedures.
