Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the position will apply knowledge of Controls and Mechanical Technology to new and existing processes to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Train, coach, and mentor manufacturing and technical personnel.
Job Responsibilities Robot integration:
Fanuc, Yaskawa, and ABB Design, write, test, implement, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI software Lead controls team in automation projects including control system hardware design, specification, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance Lead controls team in researching new technologies which can be applied to applications to improve system design and performance Lead controls team in supporting operations, maintenance, and tooling teams to minimize equipment downtime and efficiently solve problems with existing equipment as they arise Lead controls team in Industry 4.0 initiative for tracking real time machine data and storage of data Review department metrics and effectively utilize work order system to monitor controls team performance Create project requirements, time lines and expectations for controls team Utilize knowledge to effectively communicate with controls team and internal customers, as well as suppliers Utilize knowledge to effectively support engineering and maintenance in developing and/or completing continuous improvement objectives Utilize knowledge to effectively teach and train controls team members and maintain focus of continuous improvement of skills and behaviors Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associates in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience Previous maintenance and/or engineering experience in manufacturing enviornment Studio 5000 training or equivalent work experience FactoryTalk View SE training or equivalent work experience Experience modifying and configuring event-based data and time series data to SQL database Experience with Industrial Networks (Ethernet I/P, Device Net, Profibus, ControlNet) Experience programming servo drives and VFD's Experience in the design and application of fluid power controls (hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum) Experience with electro-mechanical control devices (optical, inductive, cpacitive sensors/contactors, relays, switches/power supplies and transformers/motors and motor starters) Experience with common Machine Guarding Devices (bumper strips, light curtains, area scanners, ect) Ability to read, understand, and create electrical and pneumatic schematics Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics Ability to troubleshoot, design, document, and install electrical circuits and control panels Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, ect) Experience with Auto CAD and/or Solidworks preferred
