Christian liberal arts college dedicated to the perpetuation of freedom through serious learning and moral formation. It is committed to the

Western intellectual tradition and requires genuine excellence in undergraduate teaching. Applicants should familiarize themselves with the

College's mission statement: https://www.hillsdale.edu/about/mission/. The art

department has five full-time faculty and is dedicated to the teaching of traditional observational and representational skills. The

successful candidate will teach all levels of sculpture and either figure drawing or artistic anatomy each semester. The candidate should be

firmly committed to the Western tradition. Candidates must demonstrate a solid blend of teaching, active studio practice, and service to

department and college. Qualifications An MFA with a concentration in sculpture is required. Application Instructions Send a letter of application that presents (a) evidence of strong undergraduate

teaching skills, (b) a discussion of the philosophy behind such teaching, and (c) a detailed response to the Hillsdale College Mission

Statement that includes a discussion of the candidate's ability to teach in light of the College's commitments (d) a portfolio of figurative

sculpture and drawing that demonstrates a thorough knowledge and commitment to working with the human form (e) a curriculum vitae (f) three

up-to-date letters of recommendation (including current email address for these professional references) (g) graduate transcripts. All
