The Youth Skills Training program provides students ages 16-17 the opportunity to learn, develop skills and gain hands on experience working in a machine shop production environment. The position will provide guidance to learn specific machinist duties and experience performing a variety of secondary operations within the Machine Shop such as part marking, deburring, gluing, pressing bearings, setting up tooling, broaching, tapping, grinding, countersinking, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Learn and help steward our mission (To enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (Unwavering Integrity, Servant's Heart, Ownership Spirit and Continuous Innovation and Improvement).Learn to read and understand blueprints to determine specific fabrication requirements.
Learn and perform a variety of secondary operations within the manufacturing process.
Learn how to utilize basic inspection techniques and equipment to ensure completed parts and operations are within the specified tolerances.
Learn how to maintain equipment and surrounding work area in a clean and organized condition in accordance with the 5S standards.
Demonstrate a willingness to expand skillset by pursuing training opportunities.
Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Comply with other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must be a student ages 16-17 enrolled in the Youth Skills Program (YST)No prior experience required
