You will work on a non-automated assembly line, using hand tools and power tools to assemble components according to prints and daily job setups. This role offers steady hours, on-the-job training, and the opportunity to grow your mechanical and electrical assembly skills. Responsibilities Work on a first-shift schedule in the AC, DC, and wire departments, contributing to daily production goals. Review daily job setups, including panel boxes, switchboards, wire, and related components prepared on shelves for assembly. Assemble solar panel power boxes and switchboards according to prints and work instructions. Pull wire and spool it accurately, ensuring proper lengths and organization for assembly. Read and interpret prints to determine correct placement of parts on the back of panels and where wires should be fed and connected. Work as part of a team on a non-automated assembly line and during wire spooling operations. Remain in a designated work area throughout the day, focusing on either wire spooling or mechanical assembly tasks as assigned. Use hand tools, air-powered tools, and torque wrenches to install screws, nuts, bolts, and other fasteners. Strip wires and secure them into metal plates and other components to build complete power boxes. Meet production expectations by assembling up to 64 panels per day once fully trained and up to speed. Follow safety procedures, including proper use of tools, lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the facility. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of daily assignments. Participate in on-the-job training to learn new tools, processes, and assembly methods as needed. Essential Skills Ability to read and interpret basic prints or assembly instructions, including simple diagram-based layouts. Ability to read a tape measure accurately and use measurements during assembly and wire cutting. Experience using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers in a work or hobby setting. Capability to use air-powered and other basic power tools safely after training. Comfort with mechanical assembly tasks, including fastening components and aligning parts. Ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly during the shift. Willingness to work in a team-oriented assembly line environment and follow established processes. Attention to detail when following prints, measuring materials, and assembling components. Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance and meeting daily production expectations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using a foot pedal crimper is a plus. Familiarity with pneumatic tools is an advantage. Basic wiring experience or exposure to electrical assemblies is beneficial. Entry-level mechanical or assembly experience in any environment is helpful but not required, as training is provided. Comfort working in a manufacturing or shop environment with manual tasks and tool use. Openness to cross-training across wire and DC teams to become versatile in multiple assembly areas. Why Work Here? You will work in a very clean, team-oriented, and laid-back environment that values collaboration and learning. On-the-job training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals with basic or entry-level assembly knowledge who want to grow their skills and advance their careers in manufacturing. The culture supports steady hours, teamwork, and a casual atmosphere, and welcomes referrals as the operation continues to expand. Work Environment The role is based in a large, very clean, and quiet manufacturing facility with a manual, team-based assembly line. The shop is non-temperature controlled and uses fans for airflow, with small teams of approximately 4-6 people and about 20 people on first shift. Work involves manual labor, including lifting up to 40 pounds, wire spooling, and mechanical assembly using hand tools, air power tools, torque wrenches, and other equipment. The environment is super casual yet safety-focused: shirts with short or long sleeves are required, pants without holes must be worn, and steel-toe boots are mandatory. Safety glasses and gloves are supplied when needed. Employees may listen to audio with a single earbud while working, in accordance with safety guidelines. The schedule consists of four 10-hour days plus potential additional hours on Friday, providing consistent 40-45 hour workweeks, and the team is in growth mode with opportunities to help build out additional shifts.
