Service Technician / Food Safety Specialist Full-Time | Northeast Indiana, Northwest Ohio & Michigan SMART Systems provides food safety, sanitation, and temperature monitoring solutions to the School Nutrition Industry throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. We are seeking a Service Technician / Food Safety Specialist to support school districts throughout Northeast Indiana, Northwest Ohio, and portions of Central and Southeast Michigan. SMART Systems Service Technicians are factory-certified Food Safety Specialists who deliver and service our proprietary systems through standardized service calls to school kitchens. About the Role As a Service Technician / Food Safety Specialist, you will: Visit 5-8 school kitchens per day within a designated geographic area. Review and assess food safety and sanitation practices. Inspect, adjust, and troubleshoot detergent dispensing and temperature monitoring equipment. Provide on-site training to school food service staff on food safety and sanitation procedures. Manage and replenish sanitation supply inventory using a company-provided service vehicle. Document all service visits electronically using our proprietary software on a company-provided smartphone. Schedule Workdays begin between 5:00-6:00 AM and typically end by 3:00-4:00 PM . These times include travel/driving to and from assigned routes and regional warehouse . Follows the traditional school calendar —no evenings, weekends, or major holidays (except for occasional conferences or company meetings). Some overnight travel may be required. No nights, weekends, or major holidays! What We're Looking For We're seeking an individual who is: An experienced, detail-oriented professional with a background in food service, route service, customer service, or a related field (school food service experience preferred). ServSafe® certified or previously certified, preferred. If not currently certified, SMART Systems will provide the training and support necessary to obtain certification. Independent, professional, and customer-service oriented with a positive attitude. Comfortable training both small and large groups in a supportive, professional manner. Handy with basic tools or willing to learn light equipment installation and troubleshooting. Skilled in written and verbal communication. Proficient with technology (smartphones, Gmail, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.). Physically able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. , and safely enter/exit a service vehicle. Licensed to drive and able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening . A high school graduate (or GED equivalent). Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive compensation and benefits package: Salary range: $48,000 - $55,000 per year (based on experience).

Total package value:
