Experience performing routine laboratory testing and analysis, preferably in a food, feed, manufacturing, or quality-control environment
Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products
Experience monitoring laboratory instrumentation and performing calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting/repairs
Ability to accurately document and enter test results into databases and laboratory records
Knowledge of food safety, quality, regulatory requirements, and laboratory procedures
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical manuals
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently under general/intermediate supervision and escalate complex issues appropriatelyOverview (Laboratory Technician)The Laboratory Technician will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food safety, quality, and operational teams.
This role will test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products; monitor and maintain laboratory equipment; document and communicate test results; and ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Perform routine quantitative and qualitative laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products
Conduct product analysis and testing according to established procedures and specifications
Monitor laboratory instrumentation performance and perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs
Accurately record, interpret, and enter test results into databases and other quality records
Communicate laboratory and testing results to internal customers and appropriate stakeholders
Maintain current customer specification books and related laboratory documentation
Ensure testing activities comply with applicable food safety, quality, regulatory, and procedural requirements
Support more complex laboratory trials and experiments under appropriate supervision
Help promote and maintain a strong food/feed safety, quality, and regulatory culture through cross-functional collaboration
Identify discrepancies or issues and escalate complex technical or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel
Prepare routine reports, correspondence, and other documentation as required
Provide general clerical, administrative, technical, and customer support related to laboratory operations
