Our proprietary manufacturing platform enables high-performance motion components — actuators, gears, joints, and structural parts — engineered for low weight, high precision, durability, and compact form factors. We work directly with robotics OEMs, space, electronics, and industrial companies to bring this hardware into the real world. The Opportunity We're looking for a skilled Machinist to join us at a pivotal moment — not just to run our shop floor, but to help build it. This is a rare ground-floor role: you'll start hands-on, primarily machining molds and tools used in our production processes, and grow into the leader of our machining department, shaping our tooling, equipment, processes, and team as we scale. There's a defined path from Machinist to Head of Machining. What You'll Do Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools — lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related power/hand tools — safely and efficiently Program and run programmable CNC machines as our shop grows in automation and capability Machine molds and tools used in production, plus some part machining/fabrication as needed Read engineering drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to develop manufacturing plans Select appropriate stock material and tools, and determine manufacturing sequences Fabricate new parts and molds, and modify existing ones, to meet exacting specs for robotics, space, electronics, and defense applications Use precision measuring equipment (scales, gauges, calipers, micrometers) and conduct quality inspection Help select tooling, equipment, and shop processes as production scales Work independently and in a team, communicating clearly across the shop Take on growing ownership of shop standards, equipment planning, and mentorship as the department grows What You'll Need 5+ years operating manual machine tools 5+ years operating programmable CNC machines Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T interpretation Experience with precision measuring tools CAD experience highly desirable Proficiency in, or strong willingness to adopt, the metric system A self-starter mindset — genuinely excited to help build a department, not just fill a role, in a fast-moving startup Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan Paid time off and holidays Significant opportunity for career growth as the company and department scale Expected hours: 40.0 per week
