Job Description

Bay Carbon Inc. is a growing, full-service graphite machining and purification company seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site position for a highly skilled machinist who thrives in a job shop environment and takes pride in producing precision components. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and inspecting CNC lathe-produced parts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Schedule & Work Environment Full-time, on-site position Day shift Overtime opportunities available Dynamic job shop environment with a wide variety of part types and production quantities Key Responsibilities Program CNC lathes using G and M code to meet engineering print specifications Set up and operate CNC lathes to machine raw material into precision components Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications Verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment Maintain tight tolerances of ±0.001 inch Perform preventive maintenance on equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting quality expectations Required Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of CNC lathe programming and setup experience Proficiency in reading, writing, and editing G and M code a plus Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and program directly from prints Experience machining precision parts to tolerances of ±0.001 inch Minimum of two (2) years of experience using precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and similar measuring tools Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality Preferred Qualifications Experience programming, setting up, and operating Haas CNC lathes - Fanuc Experience operating manual lathes Knowledge of a wide variety of cutting tools and tooling applications

$19.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
