Job Description

General Summary :
The CNC Machinist's main responsibility is to set up and operate vertical and horizontal 3 or 5-axis milling equipment. The CNC Machinist will strive toward completing all talks with quality craftsmanship, on time, and within budgeted hours. It is imperative that the CNC Machinist maintains a professional relationship with coworkers, suppliers, and customers, and conducts themselves with the highest moral character when representing the company.
Duties/Responsibilities :
  • Set up, operate, and monitory vertical and horizontal 3 or 5-axis mills to ATC machining standards.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining parameters, including speed, feed, depth, and angle of cut.
  • Select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, angle plates, vices, and other necessary equipment.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to precise engineering specifications.
  • Generate tool paths for 2D milling applications.
  • Accurately complete inspection sheets and required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts during shift hand-offs to ensure smooth production continuity.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments and colleagues of all levels throughout the shop.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced production environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven ability to operate 3 and 5-axis vertical and horizontal milling equipment, with a mandatory background in large mill operations.
  • Strong ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Highly motivated individual showing good judgement, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in manufacturing technology or engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working within a large automotive tooling background.
  • Certified Journeyman CNC Machinist or minimum of 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Proficiency in readding blueprints, CAD/CAM files, and using ERP systems
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours daily, overtime/weekend support as needed. Position is set in a manufacturing floor environment; requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50lbs, and wearing PPE Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Pay:
$25.00 - $33.50 per hour
