The CNC Machinist's main responsibility is to set up and operate vertical and horizontal 3 or 5-axis milling equipment. The CNC Machinist will strive toward completing all talks with quality craftsmanship, on time, and within budgeted hours. It is imperative that the CNC Machinist maintains a professional relationship with coworkers, suppliers, and customers, and conducts themselves with the highest moral character when representing the company.
Duties/Responsibilities :
Set up, operate, and monitory vertical and horizontal 3 or 5-axis mills to ATC machining standards.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining parameters, including speed, feed, depth, and angle of cut.
Select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, angle plates, vices, and other necessary equipment.
Verify conformance of finished workpieces to precise engineering specifications.
Generate tool paths for 2D milling applications.
Accurately complete inspection sheets and required documentation.
Communicate effectively with other shifts during shift hand-offs to ensure smooth production continuity.
Collaborate and communicate with other departments and colleagues of all levels throughout the shop.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced production environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven ability to operate 3 and 5-axis vertical and horizontal milling equipment, with a mandatory background in large mill operations.
Strong ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Highly motivated individual showing good judgement, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
Team-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in manufacturing technology or engineering preferred.
Minimum of 4 years' experience working within a large automotive tooling background.
Certified Journeyman CNC Machinist or minimum of 5 years of experience in the trade.
Proficiency in readding blueprints, CAD/CAM files, and using ERP systems
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours daily, overtime/weekend support as needed. Pay:
$25.00 - $33.50 per hour
