Job Description
CNC MachinistPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and program CNC milling and turning equipment to produce precision components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will ensure parts meet specifications, support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, and maintain compliance with quality systems such as
Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate and monitor CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision parts per drawings and specifications.
Program, edit and verify CNC programs using CAM software and onboard controls; make offsets and parameter adjustments as needed.
Perform machine setups including tooling selection, fixturing, workholding and establishing datum/zero points.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and GD&T callouts to ensure correct part geometry and tolerances.
Use CAD and CAM systems to review part models, generate toolpaths, and collaborate with engineering on manufacturability.
Perform inprocess and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM); document inspection results.
Maintain compliance with ISO 13485 and internal quality procedures, complete required documentation and support audits.
Troubleshoot machining issues, optimize cycle times, and recommend process improvements to increase yield and reduce scrap.
Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping to ensure safe, efficient operation.
Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors and downstream operations to resolve production issues and meet delivery schedules.
Qualifications3+ years of handson experience operating CNC milling and/or turning equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with CAD and CAM software and CNC control platforms; ability to generate and edit CNC programs.
Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing.
Experience with setups, offsets, tooling selection and workholding strategies.
Familiarity with quality management systems, preferably ISO 13485, and experience completing inspection documentation.
Skilled with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) and CMM operation preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot machining problems and implement corrective actions.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or machining apprenticeship preferred.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
