Thomson Lamination Company Manual Machinist Thomson Lamination Company is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our Precision Grinding Department in Maple Shade, NJ. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in manual machining who is comfortable working to close tolerances. Previous OD/ID grinding experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train an experienced machinist in our precision grinding processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a manual machinist who wants to expand their skills into precision OD grinding, ID grinding, honing, and other specialized machining operations. What You'll Do Set up and operate manual machining equipment Perform precision machining operations to engineering drawings and specifications Perform OD and ID grinding Perform ID honing and other precision finishing operations Perform manual milling, drilling, and tapping as required Measure finished components using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision inspection equipment Maintain close dimensional and geometric tolerances Read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions Make machine adjustments based on inspection results Document completed operations and inspection results Maintain an organized and safe work area Work with experienced machinists to develop advanced precision grinding skills
What We're Looking For Required:
Previous manual machining experience Ability to independently set up and operate manual machine tools Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience working to close tolerances Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Preferred•
But Not Required:
OD grinding experience ID grinding experience Cylindrical grinding experience ID honing experience Surface grinding experience Manual milling experience Experience machining aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision components You do not need to have experience with every machine or process listed above.
