Job Description
Manual Machinist | One-Offs, Repairs, and Proto@type Work Some parts arrive with a complete drawing. Others arrive as a worn component and a problem to solve. This manual machining role calls for someone who enjoys both. You'll make precision parts, repair components, and build tooling and fixtures for varied customer jobs. The work includes one-offs, proto@types, and short runs. You'll decide how to set up and machine each job, then inspect the result. Your day will include manual mills and lathes, along with grinders, drill presses, saws, and other conventional equipment. You'll work with project managers, customers, and shop personnel when a drawing needs clarification or a practical machining solution. You should bring at least five years of professional manual machining experience and be comfortable planning jobs independently. You need strong mill and lathe skills, the ability to read drawings and sketches, and sound judgment with tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and precision measurement. Formal machining training through a trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience is required, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. You'll need your own machinist hand tools, basic inspection tools, and toolbox. Job-shop, toolmaking, fixture, grinding, honing, boring, and conversational programming experience are useful. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a full-time, on-site position with no travel. Interested?
