$22.50 About The Role We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join a growing manufacturing and distribution team. The Saw Operator will be responsible for operating industrial saws to cut metal materials to precise dimensions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process. Responsibilities Operate horizontal and vertical saws to cut plate, sheet, and bar stock according to job specifications. Review work orders, blueprints, or job travelers to determine cutting requirements (dimensions, tolerances, material type). Set up, adjust, and calibrate saw machines, ensuring proper blade selection and feed speed. Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Safely handle and stage raw materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes. Maintain accurate records of jobs, materials used, and production output. Perform routine maintenance and blade changes on saws. Follow all safety policies, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures. Assist with general shop duties such as packaging, deburring, and material organization. Qualifications Previous experience as a saw operator, machine operator, or in a metal fabrication/distribution environment. Ability to read blueprints, job travelers, and measurement tools (calipers). Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate cuts. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift. Familiarity with industrial safety practices. Experience working with aluminum or other metals. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain. Knowledge of ISO or other quality standards.
