Toolmaker - Injection Mold Building & Repair Deppe Mold & Tooling is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision craftsmanship, enjoys solving challenging problems, and wants to work in a hands-on environment building and repairing plastic injection molds. Our Toolmakers are responsible for assigned mold builds and repairs from start to finish and work closely with other members of the toolroom to keep projects moving efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities Build, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plastic injection molds Assemble and disassemble molds Perform mold spotting, fitting, benching, and finishing Perform mold plumbing and basic electrical work Operate manual machining equipment Use CAD software to view, measure, and interpret mold designs Troubleshoot mold issues and determine appropriate repairs Track and manage schedules for assigned projects Coordinate with other departments as needed to complete jobs Maintain accurate job notes and complete required workbooks Coordinate job lineups and outside services when required Safely operate cranes and other lifting equipment Track labor time and inventory parts Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Train and assist Toolmaker Assistants when assigned Perform other toolroom repairs, improvements, and shop-related work as needed Qualifications Experience in mold making Knowledge of plastic injection molds strongly preferred Experience with manual machining equipment Ability to read and understand mold designs and CAD drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned jobs Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to safely operate lifting equipment and work around large molds Good communication and teamwork skills What We're Looking For We're looking for a Toolmaker who can think through problems rather than simply follow instructions .
