This position is responsible for designing high-quality injection molds and supporting projects from initial design through manufacturing and completion. The ideal candidate has experience in injection mold design, understands mold construction and manufacturing processes, and can work closely with customers, vendors, our design team, and the shop floor. Responsibilities Complete Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews. Prioritize workload and project requirements with the Design Lead. Design new injection molds according to customer and internal standards. Design engineering changes and mold modifications. Follow established design processes and standards. Design EDM electrodes and prepare data for electrode mounting, machining, and EDM. Create accurate bills of material (BOMs) for purchasing. Schedule and lead production kickoff meetings. Prepare and communicate design and manufacturing data to the shop floor. Provide technical support to toolmakers and other shop personnel throughout the project. Assist other designers as needed. Communicate professionally with customers and vendors. Complete required customer and internal design checklists. Verify, correct, and document critical measurements within designs and project workbooks. Participate in continuous improvement and implementation of design best practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Experience designing plastic injection molds strongly preferred. Strong understanding of injection mold construction, machining, EDM, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret customer part data, prints, specifications, and GD&T. Proficiency with 3D CAD software used for mold design. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate manufacturing data. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, purchasing, project management, and shop-floor personnel. Toolmaking or hands-on mold-building experience is a plus. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who combines strong technical design skills with practical manufacturing knowledge.
