Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Install molds in injection molding presses and cycle in jobs to meet specifications. Work on trouble shooting with Operator, Mold Technician and Inspection when part falls out of specifications.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensures that presses are running safely and correctly so that quality products can be produced to ship on-time to our customers. Ensures secondary operations are set up properly. Uses of the IQMS software to setup and enter data against the work orders. Works with Production Supervisor, Master Mold Technician on mold problem solving. Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a safe work environment. Install and remove molds from presses safely. Make sure all tools and fixtures are at press and operational. Cycle in the job when mold installation is complete. Submit sample part to inspection for approval. Perform operator duties for the press by observing the injection molding process. Answers press operators request for help as needed to produce good quality parts. Make sure all documentation for job is at the press. Work with Shift Supervisor and Mold Technician to resolve any problems. Clean up work area after you finish.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, quality standards, and procedure manuals. Ability to follow verbal instructions to listen to and carry out instructions from meetings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and complete statistical data forms. Ability to describe problems in detail. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to participate in departmental meetings and contribute to our problem solving and continuous improvements efforts.
