Job Description Bowman Steel - Build Your Career in Structural Steel Fabrication Bowman Steel is seeking an experienced Job Shop Fabricator to join our fabrication team at our Ocala/Summerfield facility. Bowman Steel is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and has been an industry leader for approximately 30 years, supporting construction projects throughout the southeastern United States and as far north as Virginia. We are looking for a skilled fabricator who takes initiative, stays organized, manages time effectively, and communicates professionally with supervisors and coworkers. This is a full-time opportunity with overtime available based on production needs. What's in It for You?

Overtime Opportunities:
Additional hours may be available based on workload and project schedules. Your New Role As a Job Shop Fabricator , you will work closely with the Shop Foreman to fabricate steel components safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Work with the Shop Foreman to establish daily priorities and production goals. Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards. Read and interpret drawings, plans, blueprints, and fabrication details. Understand structural steel construction terminology and shop equipment. Review and work from cut lists. Measure, layout, cut, fit, and fabricate steel components. Perform MIG welding to required standards. Fabricate handrails and other miscellaneous steel components from drawings. Operate forklifts and assist with loading and unloading trucks. Safely operate fabrication equipment, including: Band saws Plasma tables and handheld plasma cutters Press brakes Pipe benders Shears Ironworkers Pipe copers Cutting torches Proficiently use handheld grinders and other fabrication tools. Apply knowledge of angles, measurements, layout, and fit-up. Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and vendors when required. Maintain an organized and productive work area. Contribute to a positive company culture. Complete additional shop and fabrication duties as assigned. Job Requirements Previous steel fabrication experience required. Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints . Strong MIG welding skills. Candidates should be prepared to complete a welding and blueprint-reading skills evaluation . Experience with structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Experience fabricating handrails from drawings preferred. Knowledge of angles, measurements, layout, and fit-up. Experience operating common fabrication machinery and tools. Forklift experience preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to learn and accept additional training. Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
