Job Description

We have an opening for an APL Assembler. The position is on 2nd Shift (4/10's Monday
  • Friday 3 p.m.
  • 1:30 a.m.) but will initially train on 1st Shift (Monday
  • Friday 7 a.m.
  • 3:30 p.
m.).
AUTO PLACEMENT ASSEMBLER JOB SUMMARY
Performs all Auto Placement Line (APL) operations. Requires a high degree of ability to understand, plan course of action, and perform work in the absence of general use specifications and layouts. Performs multiple operations, setups, material acquisitions, and preventative maintenance, including the operations of multiple machines and functions, requiring the use of individual ingenuity, initiative, and judgment. Continually improves processes to address customer needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cooperates and actively participates to improve the APL process.
  • Moves to any APL work station or machine to maintain the production flow within classification.
  • Perform any material replenishment to retrieve, pick, and move stock requirements for the APL operation.
  • Assist and do training of others at all APL operations.
  • Build and repair products, maintain schedules, participate in planning and complete them on time to satisfy the customer requirements.
  • Use various tools to collect, review, report, retrieve, and enter information as required.
  • Do daily preventative maintenance and communicate with maintenance department and service personnel on major repairs on various equipment.
  • Perform specific tasks identified by manufacturing engineering.
  • Do verification of products and production processes.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly workstation free of articles not part of the APL process.
  • When necessary, to maintain production flow, performs any operations outside the classification.
REQUIREMENTS
Physical Frequent long periods of standing or sitting. Frequent bending and stooping. Lifting and carrying average to heavy weight (10-50 lbs.) materials or objects. Occasional pushing and pulling of materials or objects. Hand/finger dexterity and coordination. Non-Physical High school graduate or equivalent. Ability to read and write. Follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time. Ability to perform simple arithmetic problems.

COMPENSATION
  • Hourly Wage of $23.08 plus .75 cent shift differential
  • The collective bargaining agreement sets the wages indicated.
