SUMMARY The Quality Control Assistant Plant Manager oversees daily Quality Control and Microbiology laboratory operations as part of the Quality Control Unit (QCU), ensuring all testing, documentation, and product release activities comply with established Quality System procedures and support regulatory requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Laboratory Oversight Responsible for ensuring data integrity and verifying that quality testing is performed appropriately to ensure the quality and safety of cosmetic goods Manages daily activities in the Quality Control and Microbiology laboratories Oversee microbiological testing and release of both bulk products and finished goods Orders and maintains supplies for the QC laboratory Quality Control for Daily Production Operations Provides Quality Control support to the production floor by troubleshooting issues, preventing recurrence through corrective actions, and ensuring testing and documentation uphold the quality and safety of cosmetic goods Manages QC Technician assignments to ensure appropriate Quality Control coverage on the production floor Responsible for ensuring final review and approval/release of bulk batch records Functions as the QC-side backup to the Director of Quality Performs all QC Technician job functions when coverage is required Documentation, Records, and Compliance Oversees product labeling review of all incoming artwork components Participates in scheduled and periodic Quality System audits Oversee the review and retention of raw material SDSs Ensures documentation generated in QC and Micro labs is complete, accurate, and compliant with established procedures Supports the Quality Control Unit by performing document review and document control activities as required Delegated Leadership Responsibilities Supervises all Quality Technicians and oversees Quality Control in the Director of Quality's absence Partner with Human Resources and the Director of Quality Control to address employee issues. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or Hish school diploma with three to five years related experience One to five years of microbiology experience Experience with laboratory equipment and microbiology techniques Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and provide constructive direction to QC personnel Ability to apply logical and scientific thinking to solve practical problems Ability to interpret scientific equations and graphs Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a supervisory role Experience presenting technical information Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to lift and manipulate up to 25 lbs unaided Ability to stand for prolonged periods Willingness to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment, including exposure to chemicals, disinfectants, and routine PPE requirements Reporting Structure Reports to:
