Job Summary:

Performs physically demanding manual production tasks in a metal fabrication environment, primarily in part breakout, with cross-training and rotation into other production support roles as needed (weldment grinding, paint line cleanup, press brake second-man). No blueprint/print reading required. Success in this role depends on physical stamina, safety discipline, and the ability to stay productive with minimal direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Break parts out of laser-cut sheet stock and remove remaining tabs/slag Grind, sand, and deburr parts to meet cleanup standards for downstream production Lift, carry, and position parts and sheet remnants, including heavy or awkward loads; use hoist/crane assistance for heavier lifts per safety procedure Stand and remain physically active for the full shift Follow all PPE and safety requirements for grinding, lifting, and material handling Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area Perform other production support duties as assigned across departments

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly, unassisted Heavier loads are moved using hoist or overhead crane assistance Ability to stand, bend, and reach for a full 8-10 hour shift Comfortable working around grinding dust, noise, and heat Ability to work safely around moving equipment and sharp metal edges

Qualifications:

No prior fabrication experience required — will train Reliable attendance and punctuality Demonstrated work ethic and ability to stay on-task without constant supervision Willingness to be cross-trained and moved between production support tasks based on daily need Ability to follow verbal instructions and safety procedures Work Environment Manufacturing shop floor — exposure to noise, metal dust, and varying temperatures Standing/walking for full shift; minimal sitting 1st and 2nd Shifts available Additional $1.50/hour shift differential for employees working 2nd shift.
