Overview:
Under the General Manager's supervision, the Quality Assurance Manager will conduct routine inspections of chemical production and processing areas and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements at all levels. The Quality Assurance Manager will develop quality and compliance programs and procedures for USP. Most importantly, they ensure quality and customer satisfaction by following established procedures and SOPs and adhering to specifications. The Quality Assurance Manager performs a variety of difficult, specialized administrative support functions that require thorough knowledge of the terminology, procedures, and practices in their functional areas, with a significant degree of independence and accountability for results. Maintains Quality Policy Manual o Assigns internal audits o Reviews and updates SOPs when needed
Writes food safety plan and hosts food safety meetings semi-annually
Training o Trains management on SOPs about their position o Develops internal audit team, including training each member o Maintains training schedule, agenda, and training records
Ensures USP complies with: o Food Processing Plant License-WI Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection o Commercial Fee License-WI Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection o SQF Certification-Eagle Food Registrations Inc. o FDA Registration-U.S. Department of Health and Human Services o Organic-QAI o Kosher-Orthodox Union
Customer satisfaction o Develops plans for documented inspection of customer products to meet customer's needs o Works with customer on any quality issues § Processing customer complaints § Completing and/or assigning corrective action requests § Communicating supplier issues/non-conforming customer-owned materials o Main contact for customer audits
Responsible for the Quality Technician team's training plan, work assignments, and staffing levels o Develops, coordinates, and maintains training on SOPs and other job-related activities
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
