As a Quality Assurance and Risk Management Specialist with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, you will help strengthen the care and safety of patients across the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position plays an active role in reviewing patient care practices and helping the facility meet important standards for quality and safety. The work supports staff across departments and draws on careful study, collaboration, and follow-through. As a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Policy Interpretation:
Interpret policies and regulations to analyze and evaluate quality assurance and risk management data
Team Collaboration:
Consult and collaborate with clinical and support staff to evaluate program activities and ensure patient care meets requirements
Issue Identification:
Identify possible liability risks and areas of non compliance with regulatory standards
Record Review:
Monitor, evaluate, and examine patient care records to assess quality and compliance
Survey Participation:
Participate in surveys and recommend actions to prevent or correct deficiencies
Safety Investigation:
Investigate safety issues, patient complaints, and incidents and recommend corrective actions Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
