Position:
We are looking for a meticulous and dependable individual to join our team as a Wastewater Operator within our metal recycling and industrial manufacturing facility. Your primary focus will be to assist with treatment operations, oversee equipment performance, keep precise logs, and uphold our environmental and safety standards. This role is a great fit for candidates with a background in manufacturing, machine operation, or wastewater processing who enjoy a practical, hands-on work setting. Core Responsibilities Manage and oversee the functionality of wastewater treatment systems. Conduct regular checks on processing zones and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance. Ensure all machinery and workstations are kept in a clean and orderly state. Help maintain the integrity of operational data by keeping accurate records. Observe treatment workflows closely to identify and communicate any irregularities. Adhere to standardized protocols for material sampling and processing. Ensure all material storage containers are clearly marked and labeled. Alert management promptly regarding any mechanical failures or operational risks to prevent downtime. Contribute to a secure workplace by strictly following all safety protocols. Ensure all tasks meet internal quality standards and operational guidelines. Fulfill all administrative and documentation tasks as directed by your supervisor. Assist with broader facility and production tasks whenever necessary. Qualifications Background in manufacturing, industrial settings, or wastewater treatment is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to handle and oversee industrial machinery. High level of precision and focus on detail. Capacity to adhere to established safety guidelines and written instructions. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication abilities. Capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team. Flexibility to work night shifts in an industrial setting. Mandatory Requirements High school diploma or GED. At least 3 years of experience in municipal or industrial wastewater treatment. Deep understanding of physical, chemical, and biological treatment methods. Skill in diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, or process-related challenges. Background in conducting lab tests and gathering samples. Proficiency in computer software for data analysis, reporting, and record-keeping. A valid driver's license is preferred. Desired Skills Proficiency with SCADA controls and automated treatment systems. Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and local environmental compliance. Experience managing industrial wastewater specifically from metal processing or manufacturing. Mechanical skills related to piping, pumps, and process hardware. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational capabilities. Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-speed industrial environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in the training or mentorship of other operators.
