Operations Specialist - Water Treatment and Electrical

Job Description

ECC is seeking an Operations Specialist . This position assists with planning and executing field technical services and operating groundwater treatment plant facilities for environmental programs in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will have a groundwater (or wastewater) operator's license, or the willingness and ability to obtain a Maryland Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License within 1 year of hire, and support groundwater treatment plant operations. In this position, you will: Review project specification, required standards and applicable regulations to ensure compliance Identify, solicit and evaluate vendors for supplies and services and develop purchase orders Generate or validate calculations related to production rates, quantity take-offs, sizing requirements, loading restrictions, etc. Ensure timely receipt of project materials and supplies in the field Assist in preparation of invoices to the client as necessary Assist with Government Property Administration at the sites Learn and understand treatment plant process controls, calibrate instrumentation, and troubleshoot process variances Learn and understand system SCADA and communications, troubleshoot and repair/replace as needed Under general oversight, implement relevant environmental and Operation & Maintenance manuals, reports and plans Report to the site and/or treatment facility, conduct field sampling and monitoring, take measurements and recordings, and perform other miscellaneous field/treatment support services as assigned Participate in meetings as required Analyze environmental/ site/ plant material data Maintain budget and schedule for assigned tasks Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes, building codes, national/ local standards, and company policies and SOPs Complete related documentation (field reports, logs, meeting minutes, online submittal sites), in a timely and accurate manner In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position Requirements May manage small multi-disciplinary teams in completing assigned project activities May act as resource for colleagues with less experience Works independently with moderate guidance from others Usually determines work priorities; effectively manages multiple tasks and deadlines Communicates well by written and verbal means and may review work by others Works well independently and as a team Apply working knowledge of environmental technical principles and tools Apply working knowledge, education and experience of environmental remediation processes and technologies Apply standard protocol for work and identify improvement opportunities Water/wastewater treatment experience Electrical knowledge and experience Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs and motor controls troubleshooting Implement Federal environmental regulations, DoD guidelines, OSHA standards, USACE QC protocol, building codes/ standards, and FAR, as directed Establish timelines based on scope, and perform concurrent tasks and meet timelines Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows Current OSHA 40 Hour

training/ 8 Hour Refresher preferred (ECC will provide the training for accepted candidate if not already in possession) Four years of progressively responsible experience supporting environmental or construction projects Two years of progressively responsible experience as an environmental technician and/or plant operator performing field sampling and monitoring, taking measurements and recordings, and executing other field O&M tasks as required Maintain and service equipment under the guidance of lead plant operator/supervisor Valid driver's license

Education:

Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Rockwell RSLogix5000 and RSLogix500 PLC programming software preferred Experience with Wonderware and Citech SCADA programming software preferred The targeted base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $95,000 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location. Benefits Offered - full-time positions
